Challenges in part load operation of biogas-based power-to-gas processes (part I)

چکیده

Direct methanation of biogas enables the storage electrical energy in carbon-neutral (bio-)methane and subsequent injection into national gas distribution grid. The intermittent availability renewable electricity, as well varying nature production by e.g. anaerobic digestion, necessitate enhanced operational flexibility such a Power-to-Gas process intermediate buffer storage. This work provides experimental data dynamic part load operation TRL 5 plant with upgrading to grid-ready biomethane. Full recycling unreacted H 2 could be achieved commercial membrane (Evonik SEPURAN ® Green). Using real biogas, sequence levels down 45% full capacity were tested. Stable demonstrated grid limitations fulfilled after equilibration system. Additionally, an idealised PtG chain was simulated focus on sensitivity analysis hours. It shown that increasing hydrogen decreases number start-up shut procedures plant. using equally sized electrolyser unit, allowing only during emptying tank leads longer activity phases while reactor filling had negative effect.

Toward an Improvement of Natural Gas-diesel Dual Fuel Engine Operation at Part Load Condition by Detail CFD Simulation

Natural gas-diesel dual fuel combustion is a beneficial strategy for achieving high efficient and low emissions operation in compression ignition engines, especially in genset application heavy duty diesel engine at rated power. This study aims to investigate a dual fuel engine performance and emissions using premixed natural gas and early direct injection of diesel fuel. Due to the different r...

Spotlight: Catalytic vinylogous anomeric based oxidation (Part I)

Stereoelectronic effects is a bridge between structure and reactivity [1]. Anomeric effect plays an important role in the domain of stereoelectronic interaction and can be used for description of several unusual phenomena. Intramolecular negative hyperconjugation is also known as anomeric effect [2]. In anomeric effect, both donor (lone pairs) and acceptor groups (electronegative elements) coex...

A Calculus of Mobile Processes, Part I

We present the -calculus, a calculus of communicating systems in which one can naturally express processes which have changing structure. Not only may the component agents of a system be arbitrarily linked, but a communication between neighbours may carry information which changes that linkage. The calculus is an extension of the process algebra CCS, following work by Engberg and Nielsen who ad...

Theoretical Investigation of Combustion Process in Dual Fuel Engines at Part Load Considering the Effect of Exhaust Gas Recirculation

The dual fuel engines at part loads inevitably suffer from lower thermal efficiency and higher carbon monoxide and unburned fuel emission. This work is carried out to investigate combustion characteristics of a dual fuel (dieselgas) engine at part loads, using a single zone combustion model with detailed chemical kinetics for combustion of natural gas fuel. The authors developed software in ...
